... for those interested in sitting for the Customs Brokers License Examination. A supplement to individual study, recommended for those who have experience working in the Import or Customs Brokerage fields or have familiarity with the Customs Regulations and Harmonized Tariff of the United States

Course Features ...

  • Course instructor industry practicing  Licensed Customs Broker for 25+ years, offering course for 10+ years.  This course is from the perspective of a Customs brokerage operation. It is fully conversant with the underlying Customs laws, regulations, AND practical procedures of what occurs in the industry.

 

  •  Five On-Line course sessions, using Microsoft Live Meeting ©. Interactive, facsimile of being in a classroom, but from the comfort of your home or office!  No need to lug regulations and HTSUS to classroom sessions.

 

  •  One Saturday 4-hour in person classroom session for purposes of highlighting key topics and review.

 

  •   Five 1 x hour evening sessions On-Line (7:00 - 8:00 Tuesdays) - specific instruction topics and homework review.

 

  • Course cost is $375.00 per student. 

 

  • CD - International Operations Manual on Disk furnished with this training for ALL students.  This comprehensive CD provides many  materials useful to operating and running a Customs broker operation. An addendum to this CD provides all the course handouts and syllabus.

 

  •  When regular sessions are not held, you will have the opportunity to pose questions to the rest of the students and the instructor using  CB  Chat ©.  This is an on-line chat room for students of the course to gain homework and general question help.

Process ...
  • From the CD and on-line guidance from the course instructor, your weekly reading, homework, and test questions will be assigned.
  • The completed homework will be sent into the course instructor via email attachment.   Homework answers will be provided at the start of the  on-line classroom sessions.
  • You will be furnished the email addresses of the other students to send "blanket" email inquiries or participate in the "CB Chat" sessions.
  •  Toward the end of the course, a Saturday classroom session is offered for interested students. This covers a preparatory review of important topics likely to be tested.

The Customs Examination is given the first Monday of April and October.

This course starts mid-February & mid-August.
Meeting times for the five on-line sessions are 7:00 - 8:00 Tuesdays

Registration Deadline - First Friday of February and August
Total Cost of the course is $375.00 per student.

Enrollees are required to provide the most recent CFR 19 (Customs Regulations) and current HTSUS.  Recommended that enrollees also purchase Howdy Duty.  Some publications are FREE on the Internet (See Preparatory Syllabus). All other materials will be provided in CD or hard copy format.

Computer requirements - Microsoft Office © to accommodate Excel and Word files, Adobe Acrobat to open PDF files.  Email attachment send and receive capability.  Willingness to divulge your email address to other students in the class for CB Chat © participation.
